Senifone Companion ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
1. What information we collect
We only collect the minimum amount of personal data necessary to operate the app:
- Your name
- Your email address
This information is used exclusively for:
- Creating and logging in to accounts
- Communication and customer support
If you grant location permission, your device's location is processed locally on your device to display it on the map within the App. This data is not transmitted to our servers and is not stored or shared.
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes. We may use anonymised crash and performance data to improve App stability.
2. Lawful basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

Contractual necessity – your name and email are required to provide you with access to the App

Consent – device data (location, battery, alerts) is displayed only after explicit pairing consent by the Senifone device owner

Legitimate interests – anonymised crash data is used to maintain App stability and security
3. Device data
The App displays real-time information from paired Senifone devices. This may include:

Location of the device

Volume level

Do Not Disturb status

SOS notifications

Battery level and connectivity status
This data is:

Displayed only in real time

Not stored or shared externally

Never used for analytics or marketing
4. Third-party service providers
We may use third-party service providers acting as Data Processors to support the operation of the App, including for push notifications and app stability monitoring. These providers process data only on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

5. How we use your information
We use your information to:

Provide secure access to your account

Connect to and monitor paired devices

Maintain and improve the security and stability of the App
6. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Data from Senifone devices is accessible only to users who have been explicitly granted access via PIN-based pairing and as described in Section 4 (Third-party service providers) or where required by law.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active.
Device data (location, battery level, and connectivity status) is updated in real time – only the most recent value is stored. No historical data for these data types is retained.
Alert and push notification history is stored on our servers for a maximum of 90 days and is automatically deleted thereafter.
Upon account deletion:

Your account data (name, email) is permanently deleted within 30 days

All device data, alerts, and notification history associated with your account is permanently deleted immediately
If we are required by law to retain certain data for a longer period, we will do so only to the extent required.
8. Children and minors
The Senifone device is intended for use by adults. If the device is used by a child under the age of 16, the parent or legal guardian registering the Companion App is responsible for ensuring that a lawful basis exists for the processing of the child's personal data.
To request the deletion of data relating to a minor, please contact us at info@senifone.nl.
9. Data security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Access to paired device data is restricted to users who have completed device pairing.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated via the App or by email.
